The 2019 mockbuster by The Asylum, Monster Island was published simultaneously with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


The movie is about an asylum and has a budget roughly equal to a large child's meal. It (click here) focuses on just a handful of characters and shoots all its sequences during lunch. The Asylum might not be as bad with this kaiju genre.
